This is a great way of using single hooks for salmon fishing on tubes and conehead flies, the perfect compliment to my range of flies.  Size 8 is ideal for medium conehead patterns and size 6 for tube flies, this is often a tactic use for when there are leaves in the river, allowing you to false cast them off on one go.
